Each month we will have a group coaching session.
Put the techniques you learn into practice during group coaching sessions. This is a safe place where everyone is working on their own conscious parenting journey.
Each group coaching session is based on the masterclass delivered that month. Before each group coaching session, you’ll get a journaling prompt related to the topic. This will help your thoughts flow so that when you come to the coaching session, you’ll be ready to share what came up for you. Most parents find it powerful to learn that others are having similar struggles or have had similar struggles before and hear the creative ways they are showing up for themselves and their children.
I can’t wait to connect and grow with you on this journey!
I'M LOUISE.
My name is Louise and I am a family and child development consultant and the founder of The Whole Parenting.
I have spent all of my adult life learning about the psychology of human development. With a BSc in Behavioural Science, MSc Psychodynamics of Human Development, 2 years with the British Psychotherapy Foundation studying Infant Observations and over 15 years of working with children and families in private organisations and for the UK local government, I have a pretty good foundation and understanding of human psychological development, particularly that of a child. But most importantly, I am a mother with a good few years of practical 'mummy-ing' experience under my belt which has profoundly expanded my understanding and put all of my learning into raw, practical, in-your-face, first hand experience.
I haven't always been a conscious-peaceful parent. As a matter of fact I am naturally predisposed to smacking, shouting and reacting without much thought. As a professional, I knew in theory what was supposed to be done. But I still struggled as a parent, because I hadn’t done the work myself to unpick my own cultural complexes and identify where intergenerational transmission, belief systems and cultural complexes played a part in my parenting.
I finally did the work to understand and make the change and when I did, I saw how it transformed my whole family, and everything changed! My career transitioned into a purpose. I needed to tell everybody. I needed to help people in a new way and I particularly needed to help parents just like me, having similar cultural and intergenerational struggles.
I became passionate about helping parents like me understand and identify patterns of unhelpful intergenerational transmission of parenting practices, cultural complexes and belief systems on their parenting and further support them with very practical strategies on moving from this point to a more conscious, peaceful, connected parenting practice that nurtures their children and sets them up for the best future.
I can't wait to meet you!!
What People Are Saying
Stacy K.
"I liked the delivery, the honesty of the course. I felt like someone who has had the experience is talking to me and wanting to hold my hand.
I quite like the fact that Louise spoke about our generational/cultural issues and how to debunk that."
Joy R.
"I loved the delivery, it felt like a conversation. I liked the practical examples. I also liked the platform it was clean and easy to navigate"
Linda L.
"Many times as parents we feel judged for how we parent our little ones but Louise has managed to own the ability of letting you know what does not work, along with the research to prove it, and gently guide you to what works."
WHY IS THIS A MEMBERSHIP ONLY FOR
BLACK IDENTIFYING PARENTS?
Our services - including workshops, courses, and my 1:1 coaching are opened to everyone. However, this membership was created because through my work with parents I saw a need to create a dedicated space where we could safely, sensitively and responsibly centre the parenting experiences of black identifying parents to provide parenting support and education that takes the entire person including their culture, history and lived experiences into account. The topics we discuss especially in our group coaching sessions are specially tailored to reflect this.
We know that black identifying parents have been asking for safe spaces to discuss parenting in a context that takes our lived experiences, history and culture etc into consideration. We also know that parenting consciously and peacefully as a black identifying parent can come with some resistance from the people we love in our communities. Not because they do not want growth for us, but because of the lived experiences of the community at large, how this has affected our cultural unconscious and how we respond to certain changes in our community. This can put a strain on an already challenging parenting journey for any parenting seeking to parent in a more conscious and peaceful way.
The Village was created to be part of the solution.
It is important that when we discuss parenting as black identifying parents, that we take into consideration factors like; the impact of post traumatic slave syndrome, racial trauma, intergenerational transmission of trauma, chronic stress, internalised racism, cultural complexes, our history and lived experiences. We must do this in an effort to understand how these factors influence our socialisation, the way our brain works and how it all impacts the way we parent.
When we can take all of these into consideration along with the latest research in child development, and human psychology, then we will be better able to understand ourselves and our children and become far more equipped to do the work required that will bring about transformation.
This is not a space of exclusion but a place of understanding, safety, granularity and community.
